MIUI 7.1 Global Stable Build

Hey Xiaomi fans! It’s been over 2 months since the first MIUI 7 global stable build was released,filled with new features, tweaks and a new set of themes for its phones. Today, a global rollout of its MIUI 7.1 custom Android ROM has started to arrive for customers who own select devices.

Xiaomi will reportedly be sending out an OTA update starting tomorrow morning at 11am in China, to disseminate the latest version of its user interface.MIUI 7.1 will replace the currently employed MIUI 7.0,and will be pushed out to a number of Xiaomi devices.The update comes five months after MIUI 7 was released.At the moment, it isn’t certain which Android build MIUI 7.1 is based on.

The update is mostly a selection of bug fixes and optimizations, but there quite a lot of them, ranging from fixing issues with the lockscreen status bar to adding support for the Mi Piston earbuds in the audio settings. Most of the new features have been added to the File Explorer, which now includes private folders, shortcuts to the homescreen and an option to select the default video player. There’s a new data saver function to reduce data/WiFi usage by up to 50 percent and Mi Drop makes an appearance to help manage file transfers between phones.

  • Redmi Note 4G
  • Redmi 2/2 Prime Redmi
  • Redmi 1S
  • Redmi Prime Rating
  • Note 2 Redmi
  • Note Redmi 3G
  • Mi Pad

As you can see, some of the devices are missing from the list.If you own any of the devices that are not mentioned, Xiaomi is actually rumored to list additional models on January 11th.
