As Motorola releases new Moto X smartphone every 10 months, this isn’t too early to start a discussion about the next Moto X smartphone which may come in May or June 2016. Motorola may name it as Moto X 4th Gen or Moto X 2016, if it releases only one Moto X flagship.
If Motorola released the upgraded versions of both Moto X Play and Moto X Style flagships, then Motorola may name them as Moto X Play 2 and Moto X Style 2. Now we will round up some exclusive features and Price of Next High-end flagship from Motorola.
Motorola released Moto X Play and Moto X Style with 5.5 and 5.7 inch displays respectively. Motorola used FHD resolution in the Play flagship and QHD resolution in Pure Edition (Style). So Motorola may release next Moto X flagship with 5.8 inch display with QuadHD resolution.
If Motorola also released Moto X Pure edition (2016) or Moto X Style 2, it may feature 6 inch display with UHD resolution. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 will act as Display protector for Moto X (2016). Motorola Moto X Play and Pure edition are completely waterproof, so that the successors of them also will be complete Waterproof and also might be dustproof.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 is the chipset that powers many high-end smartphones in 2016. Motorola also uses Snapdragon 820 in Moto X 4th Generation. This SoC contains Four custom cores named as Kryo clocked at 2.2 Ghz. These cores are built on 14nm FinFET LPP process and so more energy efficient than its predecessors.
Snapdragon 820 comes with Adreno 530 GPU, which is 40% more efficient than the predecessor. This processor can play, upload and record 4K videos without log. The new Kryo cores are custom cores and are the successors of Krait cores, which powered Snapdragon 800, 801 and 805 chipsets.
The Kryo cores are the first 64-bit custom cores from Qualcomm. The Kryo cores are specially designed for heterogeneous computing : ability to combine different functional cores of the SoC, CPU, GPU and Hexagon 680 DSP.
According to Qualcomm, the new Kryo cores give 2 times the performance of Snapdragon 810 and also 2 times more power efficient than SD 810. Symphony system manager is a new feature coming with Snapdragon 820 chipset.
This new feature co – ordinates all cores of SoC, GPU, Display Engine, DSP and Specta Image processor. It clocks the CPU cores, according to the task and also combines different functions of chipset according to needs.
It supports Cat. 12 of 4G LTE-U band which gives download speeds up to 600MBPS. Motorola may use 4GB Ram in the next Moto X flagship as its predecessors boast 3GB Ram.
Motorola upgraded the Rear Camera to 21 MP with Dual LED flash in both Moto X Play and Pure. But only the Moto X Style (Pure) can record videos with QHD resolution.
So in Moto X (4th Gen), Motorola may use 27MP Rear Camera which supports 4K video recording. Dual LED flash also present in the next Moto X flagship. Motorola may use 8MP front camera with LED flash for good selfies even in low light.

Motorola used 3000 mAh battery in Moto X Pure and 3630 mAh battery in Play. So the next flagship will be powered by 4000 mAh battery that can support fast charge. Snapdragon 820 is coming with Quick Charge 3.0. So the next Moto X can charge upto 80% in just 35 mins only. Motorola may debut the flagship with Type-C USB port or Fingerprint scanner.
Google unveiled the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system in October and also released the Android 6.0.1 update. According to the latest rumours, the Search Giant is going to release a new update for Marshmallow under version number Android 6.1 in early 2016. So Moto X 4th Gen may come with pre-loaded Android 6.1 Marshmallow and will receive updates up to Two years.
Motorola launched 16GB Memory Moto X Style with a price tag of about $399 in the US. So Moto X 2016 may be priced in the range of $400-500. Motorola may launch the Next Moto X in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal memory variants.
